Last Saturday

The Middle Child started her happily-ever -after.  She married her sweetie.  What a beautiful bride she was, gorgeous and serene, radiating happiness!  I’m so honored to have been invited to share in this special event in her life.

They are so cute together.  And well-matched.  When they went off to have their photos taken at a nearby park, Mr. MC was sweet and attentive, helping his bride into the car, making sure the dress was settled as well as Mrs. MC before closing the door securely behind her.  Later, Hubby was making a speech and became a tad emotional.  The Middle Child stood up, embraced him and very elegantly took over thanking all of us for joining them in celebrating their marriage.

Neeley and the Little One were bridesmaids so I got to hang out with them and their men too.  It was a wonderful evening!  I’m so proud of my girls and the women they have grown into.  Each is a unique and incredible individual.

My girls, their men and the mom and dad who have so generously shared them.
Thank you, ladies for letting me be a part of your lives.  I look forward to seeing where you go next.  Knowing you as I do, I’m sure it will be far.  I love you.

Bravo!

I went to see Eva May in her school show Friday night. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Unfortunately, she doesn’t really sing so she had a small part but still, it was okay. The kids did a great job and they looked like they were having fun, which is what I think is most important.

It’s been wonderful, watching Eva mature as a performer over the years. She’s always loved being involved in such things. At the beginning, back when she was a small child, she was a bit timid. Now, she radiates with confidence. She’s comfortable with lines, knows what’s expected of her, is capable of compensating if needed and it shows.

I think she’s planning on auditioning for the summer show and then next year will be a play, not a musical so I’m looking forward to seeing more of her on stage. Whatever role she gets, I’ll be there, cheering her on as always and so proud to call her my friend.

Sorry I'm Late

I had dinner and did some hanging out with Mackenzie, one of my little girls. Only she’s no longer little. She’s newly sixteen and has grown into an amazing young woman without me being exactly aware of it. For that, I apologize.

You see, usually there are others around when we get together and she wanders in and out of view. Tonight it was just us and I had a blast. She’s funny as hell in a very clever way, charming, more than capable of holding her own in a conversation (and we discussed a wide variety of things), inquisitive and beautiful, both inside and out.

Last time I asked, she had no clue what she wanted to do. Now she does. She’s made up her mind and is working towards it, very determined, and I’m sure she’ll succeed in a spectacular way. She writes poetry, which she’s promised to share, and songs, which she’s going to video one day soon and post. I can’t wait.

I’m most honored to call her friend and look forward to watching her continue to grow and shine.

Oh yeah, if you’re ever in the area, eat at Austin’s, request Melissa as your server and be sure to ask her what dessert is.
