It’s time for Reading’s annual World War II weekend. Held at the local airport, the event takes place Friday through Sunday with the gates opening every morning at 8:30.
There’s plenty for everyone to do, from and air show to vintage planes that you can explore to speakers who were actually there, to re-enactors doing everything from skirmishing to singing including a battle in a recreated French village to a department store selling goods from the 1940’s era.
This year, instead of just wandering through the planes they’re offering rides. What fascinates me is that one of the planes they’re advertising boasts a .30 caliber machine gun. I wonder if the cost of ammunition is part of the $450 ride fee or if that’s extra and if they have a set route or you get to choose whose house you pepper. Hmm, may have to look into that one a little deeper.

We have a similar event here. Lots of old old planes flying overhead.
